Question

California Wage 15 premium

How can we send a Wage Order 15 meal premium to QuickBooks without adding hours to the timesheet? Currently, payroll data is sent with units and rate. Is it possible to send the meal premium as an amount-only entry without adding units?

You are exactly right. QuickBooks integration requires a unit-and-rate format, so it cannot accept an amount-only entry. As a workaround, you can add it manually as a flat-dollar Other Earnings pay item directly on the paycheck.

Here's how:

  1. Go to All apps, then Team, then Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. Select Job & pay.
  4. From Additional pay types, select Add.
  5. Select an existing pay type from the Pay types dropdown or choose + New pay type if you'd like to create a brand new pay type.
  6. Fill out fields like Rate or Recurring amount if applicable.
  7. Select Save.
