How to make my customer pay the invoice processing fee in the right way?
You can charge invoice processing fees to your customers, depending on your payment setup and how they pay in QuickBooks Online. With QuickBooks Payments, you can enable Surcharging to automatically pass processing costs to customers for credit cards or ACH bank transfers.
How to set up:
Note: If you don't see the surcharge option, QuickBooks Payments hasn't enabled it for your account yet.
Before enabling this, review the resource below to check which payment methods qualify, which don't, and which states restrict surcharging: Add a surcharge to customer invoice payments with QuickBooks Payments.
If your customer prefers ACH bank transfer, use this dedicated setup instead: Add a convenience fee to customer invoice payments made by ACH bank transfer.
If surcharging isn't available on your account, or you'd rather charge a fixed fee, add it as a line item instead:
