Reclassify paychecks now moves payroll tax payment transactions that were posted to an account other than your bank account. Previously, reclassifying these transactions would not work. You can now correct where these payments post in your books without contacting support.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, a loading spinner now shows after you select a standard or custom field value on the time clock screen, until the value appears. Previously, the screen would give no feedback and could look unresponsive. You now know your selection registered without tapping again.
Restore on the Discrepancy Report is now available to international customers. When you restore a deleted transaction, QuickBooks now reads amounts correctly in currencies other than US dollars and in number formats that use a decimal comma (e.g. 1.234,56). Previously, Restore would only be available to US customers.
Payroll Tax Center now loads with fewer errors when you open it. The update applies to the loading of the main Payroll Tax Center page. You can get to your tax payments with fewer interruptions.
The 'Mark as paid' action in Payroll Tax Center now works for past-due tax payments that are on hold because they were backdated. Previously, selecting 'Mark as paid' on these payments would fail. You can now clear taxes you already paid outside QuickBooks without contacting support.
The 'Pay' and 'Record' buttons in the Payroll Tax Center payment drawer now work when a tax payment or your company is on hold. Previously, the drawer could show an error or close unexpectedly. You can now pay or record these taxes manually without contacting support.
Employees whose company lets them request time off in QuickBooks now see the 'Time Off' tab in the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS and Android. Previously, some employees would see a prompt to view time off requests on the overview but no tab to open. You can now request time off from your phone instead of asking an admin.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, an active manual break on the Timesheets screen now shows a space between the 'Manual Break' and 'Active' labels. Previously, the two labels would run together. You can now read your break status at a glance.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, switching to a different customer or job while on the clock no longer shows 'Timesheets for this date are already approved' for today's timesheet. Previously, an overlapping timesheet would be reported as an approved date. You can now switch jobs without being told your day is locked.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, an unsaved timesheet you started on the time clock screen now stays intact when you switch to the 'Timesheets' tab and back. Previously, the draft would be cleared with no warning. You no longer have to re-enter your details after checking your timesheets.
In your payroll accounting settings, the warning that a mapped account is missing from your Chart of Accounts now only appears when an account you currently use is actually missing. Previously, old unused mappings could trigger the warning and keep 'Reclassify Paychecks' greyed out. You can reclassify paychecks without chasing a problem that isn't there.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, when you change the date filter on the Timesheets list, each day's summary row now shows the timesheets that make it up. Previously, a day's total would show but the entries under it would not. You can now review the time behind each daily total in one place.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app, canceling a clock-in right after you clock in no longer leads to the 'Your info didn't load' screen when your company rounds clock-in times. Previously, the cancel would fail and show a full-screen error with a 'Refresh' button. You can now undo an accidental clock-in without getting stuck.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, clocking in now opens your active timesheet instead of sometimes showing the 'Your info didn't load' error. Previously, you would have to switch tabs repeatedly before the right screen loaded. You can now start tracking time right after you clock in.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app, starting a break no longer shows a message saying your timesheets are locked because the pay period was approved when they aren't. Previously, an overlapping timesheet would be reported as an approved pay period. You're no longer told your day is locked when it isn't.
When you select a specific vendor credit in Pay Bills for a vendor with more than one open credit, QuickBooks now applies that credit. Previously, the oldest credits could be used first and the credit you picked could stay open. You spend less time correcting credit applications after paying.
The Payments card on the Payroll Tax Center summary now shows the same payment cutoff time as the payment details drawer. Previously, the card could show a different pay-by date than the drawer. You can now rely on the summary page to know when to pay.
If your company's first payroll date in QuickBooks falls in an earlier quarter, setting up electronic tax payments now takes you straight to the e-sign step. The related setup checklist item is also removed in this case. You can finish setup with fewer steps.
Payroll Tax Center now hides the 'E-Pay' button when a warning on the tax payment says it can't be paid electronically. Previously, the button would still appear next to that warning. You can now see right away which payment option to use.
When you void a paycheck that has lines assigned to a customer for job costing, the reversal now syncs to your books. Previously, the sync would fail with the error 'Payee must be type Vendor or Employee'. You no longer have to record these reversals by hand.
When you pay past-due taxes electronically in Payroll Tax Center, QuickBooks now asks you to confirm that you want the amount withdrawn from your bank account. The message also reminds you to change your selection in the payment drawer if you only meant to record a payment. This helps you avoid paying the same tax twice.
If you use account numbers in your Chart of Accounts, payroll now matches your mapped accounts by their full numbered name when syncing payroll transactions to your books. Previously, numbered accounts could fail to match, leaving payroll transactions unsynced. You spend less time fixing payroll entries by hand.
The Payroll Tax Center summary now includes on-hold debits in 'Upcoming withdrawals' and shows returned debits on a new 'Failed withdrawals' card. Previously, on-hold debits would be hidden and returned debits would appear under 'Pending deposits'. The card's 'View transactions' link opens your failed withdrawals, so you can act on them right away.
In your payroll accounting preferences, the wage expense, contribution expense and tax expense sections mapped by employee now let you choose active or inactive employees. You can now update account mappings for either group. You no longer have to scroll through every employee to find the ones you need.
When you open your Deposits list from a 'Needs Attention' alert about deposits on hold or delayed, the list now loads showing only the deposits with that status. Less time sorting through deposits that don't need attention.
