The 'Action' column in the Chart of Accounts list now takes up less space by default. More room for your account details, with less side scrolling.
Previously, after you clicked 'Customize' in the Chart of Accounts list, the popover would stay open. It now closes as expected, so you can get back to your accounts without working around it.
The Chart of Accounts list now opens with the 'Cozy' row density setting. You get an easy-to-scan layout without changing the setting yourself.
The Chart of Accounts list now loads 200 accounts per page by default. If you have a long list of accounts, you page through it less often.
The 'QuickBooks balance' column in the Chart of Accounts list now takes up less width. More of your account details fit on screen, with less side scrolling.
When you haven't applied any filters, the row of filter pills (e.g. 'Status: All') no longer shows above the Chart of Accounts list. Your accounts start higher on the page, so you scroll less to reach them.
After you replace an account in your payroll accounting preferences, you can now rename, change or merge the old account in your Chart of Accounts in more cases. Previously, the old account would stay locked because QuickBooks still treated it as a payroll account. This applies to companies in Canada and the UK. You can now clean up duplicate accounts with less back-and-forth.
When you run payroll, the sync error banner on the Run Payroll screen now only shows up when paychecks from the current year have actually failed to sync to your books. Previously, the banner would appear even when there were no sync errors to fix. You now only stop to check sync errors when there is something to resolve.
Payroll transactions now keep syncing to the right account in your books after you rename an account that is mapped in your payroll accounting preferences. Previously, a renamed account could leave payroll transactions unsynced and listed as sync errors. You spend less time matching payroll entries by hand.
On the payroll transaction sync errors page, each paycheck or paycheck adjustment that failed to sync to your books now has its own row with a 'View paycheck' link that opens it in a new tab. Previously, several failed paychecks with the same error would be grouped into one row, and you would have to search for each paycheck yourself. You can now go straight from an error to the paycheck that needs attention.
Payroll tax payments, paycheck adjustments and payroll refunds now sync to your books more reliably when several changes happen in your company at the same time. Previously, some of these updates could fail to reach your books without an error. You spend less time finding and adding missing payroll entries by hand.
When you rename an account in your Chart of Accounts, your payroll accounting preferences now update to use the new name. Previously, payroll could keep pointing to the old account name, so payroll transactions might not post where you expect. You no longer need to remap payroll accounts after a rename.
The Chart of Accounts list has updated bank and credit card icons, lighter account type badges and refreshed column headers. Subaccounts now show an arrow that indicates their parent account. You can scan your account structure faster, without opening each account.
Accounts linked to a bank or other financial institution now show a connection icon in the Chart of Accounts list. You can see which accounts have bank feeds without opening each one.
The Chart of Accounts list now shows the 'Bank balance' column by default and hides 'Detail type', which you can still turn back on. A new 'Description' column is available in your column settings. If you've already customized your columns, your choices stay as they are. Less time setting up columns to see the details you check most.
Inactive accounts now have their own distinct styling in the Chart of Accounts list. You can tell active and inactive accounts apart at a glance, without checking each status.
Actions that apply to the whole Chart of Accounts table were updated to match the new list design. Common tasks work the same way each time, so they take less effort.
Account names in the Chart of Accounts list are now links, and you can change an account's category inline without opening a separate form. Fewer clicks to open an account or fix its category.
Going from the map view of your Chart of Accounts to the table view is now smoother and keeps your selected account and filters. You don't have to find your place or reapply filters after switching views.
Filter and search in the Chart of Accounts list were updated to match the new list design. You can narrow down to the accounts you need faster, without scrolling the full list.
You can now exclude a category when you filter the Chart of Accounts list (e.g. show everything except one account type). Default category filters were also updated. Fewer steps to narrow the list to just the accounts you need.
The Chart of Accounts list now opens with updated default date range and search settings. The list starts with the most relevant accounts, so you spend less time setting it up.
A customization panel in the Chart of Accounts list lets you show or hide, reorder and resize columns, and it saves your view settings. Set up the list once to show the details you use, instead of adjusting it every visit.
Editing accounts directly in the Chart of Accounts list was updated to match the new list design, with clearer saving and error messages. Quick edits to your accounts take less back-and-forth.
Each row in the Chart of Accounts list now has actions to edit, split, move or open that account. You can also start a new account with that row's settings already filled in. Handle common account tasks without leaving the list.
