Whether you've been using QuickBooks for years or you're still getting your footing, there's always a workflow worth refining. This month's roundup covers everything from automating customer payments to sending receipts after the fact. Let's get into it. 1. Where can I download an ACH form to pass to my customers to fill out? The great news is that there's no separate ACH form to hunt down and email. QuickBooks Online handles this directly through Autopay, which lets your customers authorize recurring payments electronically right from their invoice. Here's how it works: once you have a recurring invoice set up with QuickBooks Payments enabled, your customer will see an option to Set up autopay when they open that invoice. They'll sign in with their Intuit account (or create one), confirm the payment schedule, and authorize the automatic charges going forward. Their bank account or card details are entered securely at that point, which means no pape

I want to connect my gmail account for exporting and sending statements and invoices. I've lost my mail.app connection and don't want to use it because of all the spam it gets. How can I set up my gmail account to work with QB desktop? Thank you.
Nothing more irritating then clicking something you didn't want to because you can't remove or move or hide it.It's in the way of reminders and closing and should be hidden away like the new features was. How do I move or preferably hide the Discovery Hub.
I am still using QBD 2020 PremI have QB running on a W11 Pro VM using Parallels on a Mac. The DB is stored in a Mac folder.I wanted to move my QBD R17 to a new W11 VM, got everything installed, everything works, but when I now try to backup my database I get this error "Verify has detected a problem that prevents backup from continuing." and the backup does not finish.I went back to the old VM, opened QB there and tried the backup, but now get the same error as well. There are no additional error messages.I ran a rebuild, the backup finished, but then I still get the error that verify has detected a problem, but the result screen shows no issues found. After I use QB every day I have to assume something happened after creating the new VM. The old VM was no active at the same time..Any idea what I can do to find out what the error and and how to resolve it?Thanks for you help in advance.Gerd
Is anyone else having issues with your deposit request disappearing from the estimates? My customers can’t pay a deposit from the estimates anymore.
I am needing to re-issue some paychecks that were never cashed and are now stale. They are from previous years, and are stale. There are many answers that address this issue, but those solutions are not complete - or I am missing something obvious. The re-issued check that needs to print must have today's date - so it can be deposited. All of the other answers to this question don't address this need. QB does not let you change a paycheck date from a prior year - which makes sense. So I am not sure how to get a replacement check into the hands of my employees that has a current and usable date on it.
Example: Customer based in Antioch 9.75% sales tax. In the breakdown you can see in QBs shows 9.75% Antioch but the system is only calculating 9%. When I manually change it to Antioch it's a $9 difference. . .which means I'm paying that to the State of California but not collecting the correct amount from the customer! Yikes! Not sure how long this has been going on and unsure as to number of invoices this affects but this could be costing me hundreds of dollars.
Hello, We've tested the payment links feature and unfortunately it doesn't work the way we expected it to be. We have an invoice for a specific customer, but we used the payment link feature. The customer paid through the Payment Link, now here comes the two problems: First is, it has been paid more than a month ago, now every user has no idea where the money is deposited, not in the Unapplied, nor credit. (but let's not focus on this problem)Second one is, we have an open invoice to that customer and it's still unpaid, but it's already paid, from the Payment Link, So it's not matched into the invoice, so we're stucked between deleting the invoice or the generated sales receipt from the payment link, else it would cause duplicate transaction. What would be the cleanest and safest way? I understand QuickBooks Payment Links isn't designed for our current workflow. But we're experimenting these stuffs because we have multiple invoices to be sent out to our c
Is there a way to create a customized view only access in IES? I know there is a View Only Access role offered but it provides access to all reports and would like to further restrict access say to just Project reports.
About a year ago, our QuickBooks Online account randomly started saying we had a filing deadline for Maryland workers comp, but we are a small Idaho company who has only ever employed a handful of employees at a time to work at our one location in Idaho. We've never provided services in Maryland, nor have we had employees living or working there. Unfortunately, I've followed all of the tips I could find online and by using the AI chat bot in QuickBooks Online but there is no physical way for me to remove the Maryland workers comp on my end. I've gone through all past and current employees (inactive and active) and have reviewed everything from their work location to their home address and payroll withholding codes and there is no mention of Maryland. I guess my question is: Has anyone else had this issue? Were you able to get it resolved? I'm nervous that QBO is pushing us toward more and more automated payroll processing but I have this error in my file that their representatives
I had a contractor fill out their profile, but they didn't enter their Direct Deposit information. They are now ready to enter it, and the link they have from the initial email says it's "expired", and there is no "resend direct deposit info request" link in their profile. I also tried deleting their contact so they can fully start over, and the only thing I can figure out how to do is to mark them inactive - which doesn't help..
I need to change the bank account from which the direct deposit payroll checks are deducted.

Ready to turn that business dream into something real? Before you dive headfirst into the day-to-day grind, there are a few foundational moves that can mean the difference between thriving and just surviving. It's easy to focus on the exciting parts like the product, the customers, and the vision, and to skip over the decisions that quietly shape everything else. Building a business that actually lasts takes more than hustle. It takes intention. Here are three things every aspiring entrepreneur should do early and do right. Tip 1: Choose Your Business Structure One of the most consequential decisions you'll make as a new business owner isn't about your logo or your pricing, it's about how your business is legally organized. Your business structure determines how you pay taxes, how much personal liability you carry, and how investors or partners perceive you down the road. A sole proprietorship might be a natural starting point for solo ventures, but it leaves your
Hello QuickBooks users, and thanks for joining us. These mini guides are designed to instill confidence while navigating your QuickBooks account so you can focus on running your business. This month's guide covers estimated quarterly taxes: What they are, who needs to pay them, how to calculate what you owe, and how QuickBooks can help you stay on top of them. With the Q2 deadline coming up on June 15, there's no better time to get this sorted. Let's dive in! -What Are Estimated Quarterly Taxes? When you work a traditional job, your employer withholds taxes from each paycheck and sends them to the IRS on your behalf, this is known as "withholding." But if you're self-employed or earn income that isn't covered by withholding, that responsibility falls on you. You do your own withholding by making estimated tax payments four times a year. These payments cover your federal income tax, as well as your Social Security and Medicare taxes for your self-emplo
