My client had accidentally voided an invoice. Can we turn it back or do we need to recreate it? Because the data inside disappeared.
exporting data to QB Enterprise Desktop, reconciliation starts at last month but has no history of previous reconciliations. How do I export this date?
In QB Online, is there a way to create a custom report for an AR Aging Detail Report, that breaks down what is owed by product/service? Trying to track aging retention separately, which we have broken out into a separate current asset account which is the standard workaround for tracking customer retention. I know we could run a separate balance sheet, but we’d really like to see retention aging in the same report even if there’s a custom report or excel integration workaround.
Hi there, and thanks so much for joining us! These mini guides are here to help you feel confident navigating your QuickBooks account, so you can spend less time worrying about paperwork and more time running your business. This month we're talking about Form 941: what it is, who needs to file it, and how QuickBooks can lighten the load. With the Q2 deadline landing on July 31, now's a great time to get ahead of it. Let's dive in! What Is Form 941?Think of it as the Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return, your way of reporting wages paid to employees and the taxes withheld each quarter, plus your share of certain payroll taxes. Each 941 covers:Federal income tax withheld from employee paychecks Social Security tax (6.2% each, employee and employer) Medicare tax (1.45% each, employee and employer)The good news? Since it's built on payroll you've already run, filing is mostly about reporting and reconciling, not fresh calculation. Who Needs to File? You'll generally need to file if you:Ha
We do a lot of booths at events and receive payments for goods through PayPal. I have my PayPal transactions set up to come through the PayPal feed. I have an instance where I have an invoice that I created for a customer where I need to use some of these payments from a booth and apply them to that invoice. Is this possible?
At some point in May 2020, I ran a verify that told me I had an error and had Uncategorized Income and Uncategorized Expense in an entry in 2017. I found the entry and deleted the 2-line entries but when I closed and reopened QB--they came back. My issue is that I don't have any Uncategorized Income and Expense entries. I never download any banking transactions into my QB....so how did this happen and how do I fix it. It doesn't affect my totals on my financials because it created a debit and credit entry that simply offset each other, but I want to get it out of there. I ran a Rebuild, but it didn't correct the problem. But, my Verify runs each day don't catch it any more...so what do I do?
Not really sure which category this falls under. Total noob here with QB online. Trying to file my taxes and I notice under my P&L report that some of my income transactions are categorized under "Uncategorized Income" instead of the "Service/Fee" category like the rest. I never really used invoices previously but started encountering this problem once I started using them and I can't figure out how to change them over. Usually I can just find it in my banking and undo it to put in the right category but I guess because these are invoices I matched, the transactions aren't showing up in my banking under Categorized. How do I get these categorized correctly under "Service/Fee"?
I’ve been trying for 20 minutes to get into my QB Accountant online page to work. I put in my password, select my company and it just thinks. Cleared history, tried Microsoft edge, Google and Brave browsers, same issue… It thinks once it’s into the online system. It’s accepting my password, just not doing anything but timing out, no outages reported. Any ideas on how to even report an outage if you can’t get to your account page?
someone please help me change my legal name in quickbooks, i have been on hold for 30 minutes (Title has been edited by moderator for clarity)
We pay some employees a monthly bonus check and Intuit is charging us for each check, not each employee. Is anyone else having this issue? I've been on the chat and the phone and none of their "experts" seem to know how to resolve this. The invoices also do not specify which period the fee is for. For being accounting software, their invoices are badly lacking necessary detail.
We are general contractors. In order to invoice a customer for a construction draw, we need to know all the current expenses and income for a specific customer (job). (We have the “jobs” under customers and subcustomers not projects.) We have tried the Profit and Loss Detail by Customer report but this takes materials (cost of goods sold) and does all the fancy accounting stuff and applies invoices to them. We just want a simple report that will show a list of current expenses (materials, subcontractors, etc.) and any payments that the customer has made. We would not be using it for tax purposes, just simply to see the status of a job at a specific time. It could be like a check register, listed chronologically, and a running balance on the side. Or it could be similar to the profit loss statement but without the cost of goods stuff going on. We have also tried the Troansaction List by Customer but it also splits the cost of goods sold up. Might be doing something wrong. Any
Can anyone guide me on how to add a new employee's contribution. A screen shot would be great since this old lady sometimes missread things.
Is there anything I need to check to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Several of my clients emailed to say they hadn’t received my invoic.
I recently sold my business and have 2 business accounts on my QB 2019 desktop version on my old office computer/server. I need to move the company files to my home computer. I downloaded QB 2019 desktop onto my home computer, created a QB backup for both companies, and am able to access my newer company (started in 2020) but not my other (started in 2002). It states “unrecoverable error”. I have read other threads and have tried the options suggested without success. I have been having a problem with the backup file based on the fact that my accountant has not been able to open it on his end for the past 2 tax years, so we have been sending him the specific reports he needs as opposed to him being able to access the company via the .qbb file. His IT people have tried to figure out the issue without success. Any suggestions? I am trying to avoid buying the online version due to the high monthly subscription fees, especially since I will be using QB very minimally moving forward.Thank y
cannot open my files...says check to be sure not opened by another (it's not) or that it is "read only (it's not). The windows error was “this file exists”
I purchased a new computer and when I downloaded Quick Books, restored my company file from a backup. Now, when I go to my invoices and click on the attachment that was there, I get a message that says specific file not found. How do I find that file on my old computer and bring it to my new one? I do not have an online account.
I first saved it to USD, and it worked. But after editing multi currency, and saving it, it automatically returned to my home currency
Bulk posting of bank transactions incorrectly requires tax rates. Individual posting works without tax. This appears to be a bug.
I have an accrual basis balance sheet with an approximate $30,000 balance. When we switch to show the balance sheet in “cash basis” it has a small negative balance. Here is the main issue: I went to write off some bad debts and when I do…..it increases the negative AR balance on the cash basis. I am stumped on why it is doing this.
When using QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced payroll (for accountants), QB is rounding all of my federal withholding amounts to the nearest dollar. So for instance instead of being $53.68 it is $54. This happens for every check in the impacted files. Not all client files are impacted by this issue. What would cause it to round. It’s not a huge deal just really annoying. I’ve done updates, repaired the file, and the item is set-up correctly. I’ve also had this problem in a brand new file. Nothing works to fix this.
Can i subscribe to the Payroll even if i already have a QBO company or is it a separate entity?
