Customer Sales Detail Report

QuickBooks Online doesn't have a single report that shows year-over-year sales details for a specific customer. You'll want to run the Sales by Customer Detail report separately for this year and last year. Save both as PDFs or Excel files to compare them.

Alternatively, you can pull up the Profit and Loss by Customer report. It has a comparison option to view prior-year sales alongside current year-to-date totals. However, you'll have to click the amount of each income account to see detailed transactions.

Here's how:

1. In Reports, go to Standard reports.
2. Search for Profit and Loss by Customer.
3. Set the Report period to This year.
4. In the Compare to field, choose Previous year.
5. Click Customize, then select Customer in the Filter by menu.
6. In the Value dropdown, choose the customer you want to review.
7. Select Apply changes.
