We value your efforts in accessing your 2022 transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Mary. I understand the importance of having easy access to your financial information for expense reporting.

Currently, the option to create an expense report by category is unavailable in QBO. Alternatively, generate a Transaction Detail by Account report and reorganize its data presentation. Let me show you how.

  1. Log in to QBO and go to the Reports menu.
  2. Type and pick the Transaction Detail by Account report.
  3. Set the Report period to Custom dates.
  4. Choose a date range in the year 2022.
  5. By default, the report is already grouped by distribution accounts.
  6. In the Filter menu, select Transaction type, choose equals, and then Expense.

I'm committed to resolving this concern promptly. If there's anything else I can assist you with, please add a reply below.
