Management Reporting

Management reporting is acting strangely the last 2 days.  SPecifically:  prior to this, I could add a report (standard or custom) to a Mgmt Report, and then NAME the report so that when it showed up in the Mgmt Report, it had a shorter more appropriate name than the underlying report.  Always worked great, now all of a sudden, when you run the Mgmt Report, i’m seeing the long original name of the report.  What is going on?  What changed?  Anyone else having this issue?

When you add a report to a Management Report with a custom name, QuickBooks saves both the original report name and your custom display name. Normally, your custom name takes priority when the report is generated.

You can troubleshoot the issue by editing and re-saving the report to force the personalized text to reload, checking whether the problem affects all reports or only specific ones.

Here’s how:

  1. In the left menu, select Reports.
  2. Click on the Management Reports tab.
  3. Find the affected report, click the drop-down menu next to it, and select Edit.
  4. Review the report settings and individual report tabs to ensure your custom names are entered.
  5. Click Save draft to apply the changes and refresh the display names.

Once you complete these steps, the document will successfully re-sync with your chosen name, ensuring that the updated titles appear correctly when you preview, print, or export.
