Should  I just start another QBO acct?

Best answer by JaneDave_I

Hi, Feet. If your goal is to create a new company file and start fresh in QuickBooks Online (QBO), it's important to understand that deleting your data and starting over is subject to your subscription level and how long QuickBooks has been in use. You can check this page for further information: Delete your data and start over.

For users with a Plus, Essentials, or Advanced subscription, QuickBooks allows you to reset your account within the first 90 days of sign-up. However, if you’re using Simple Start, resetting is not an option. Instead, you’ll have to cancel your current subscription and open a new QBO account to begin anew.

With this in mind, it's also worth noting that cancelling your account doesn’t immediately delete your books. Your data will remain accessible in read-only mode for up to one year. After that period of inactivity, the system removes company data permanently. To preserve any important records, you can export your data and re-import it into your new account.

For more details about importing data into QuickBooks Online, you can also visit this page: FAQs About Importing Data into QuickBooks Online.

However, if you wish to permanently delete all data in your current account, this can be managed through the Intuit Account Manager.

If you’re referring to something else or need additional assistance, feel free to reply here, and I’ll be happy to help further.
