Question about Class information in Exported Data

Hello,

I have successfully used Class Tracking in Quickbooks Plus without problems.  I recently saved a comprehensive archive of my Quickbooks data (for all time) using Tools --> Export Data, and noticed that Class information was not included in any of the exported Excel files.  Does Quickbooks not include Class Tracking information when exporting data for archival purposes?  Is there a way to ensure that Class information *is* included?  Thanks!

(P.S. I'm planning to downgrade from Quickbooks Plus, and just don't want to lose any legacy Class information!)

Try converting your data to QB Desktop and you can use the trial version to access your historical data for good.

Hi, Midwesterner. The reports on the Export data page don’t include Class information because they are summary reports. To get Class-level details, you’ll need to run transaction lists or detail reports and export them to Excel.

Go to Reports > Standard reports, then select the report you need. Examples include Profit and Loss by Class and Profit and Loss Detail. Customize the report to include the Class column, then export it to Excel. You can refer to these articles for details:

Once you have exported the necessary data, review it and make any necessary customizations. Then you can proceed with the downgrade process, which will disable features not included in your subscription. The data associated to the feature will be hidden and will only be available again when you upgrade.
