Question

Unbilled time/costs - but where?

I have a few customers that when I create invoices it tells me they have unbilled time/costs.  When I hit the time/costs button, it's empty and everything is zeros.  But if I run the transactions report, they show up there as negative numbers.  We don't even use this feature.  Any ideas how i can find what it is and remove the "billable" part?  TIA

Hi there, @AVIDPgh.

It's possible that you enter a weekly timesheet or a single activity that is billable to your customer. That's why it's showing unbilled time/cost when creating an invoice.

To review the unbilled time and cost, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Company menu, then Transaction Center.
  2. Select Income Tracker under customers.
  3. Then, select the Unbilled time and cost tab.

Then, once you're ready to turn off the feature, you can go to the Preferences menu. Here's how:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks menu, then select Preferences
  2. Select Time Tracking.
  3. Turn off the preferences for the Keep track of time option.

For more details about this feature, feel free to read this QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 User’s Guide.

Keep me posted if you need a hand with creating invoices. I'll be here to help. Have a good day and take care always.
