Question

Amex not syncing with quickbooks

Hi

Since Friday I've been getting 105 errors with quickbooks and amex.

If i try to re-connect the account I get the following error -

The American Express (Australia) site is down for maintenance.

Try connecting again in a few hours. (105)

If I logon to web banking with Amex that all works ok, so it's definitely a quickbooks issue.

Thanks

Christian

Thanks for posting here, @CJ_Aus,

I want to share some information about this error you're getting. This is usually caused when QuickBooks is unable to connect with your bank because of undergoing maintenance or have server issues.

To resolve this, try refreshing the bank connection. Use the Update button to sync bank transactions into the system automatically.

Next, sign-in to the bank website and see if there is an ongoing maintenance. We need to make sure everything is working on their end.

  1. If you're unable to sign in, reach out to your bank or credit card company about next steps.
  2. Look for any messages, notifications, or alerts. These should tell you if something isn't working.
  3. Review your account pages, account history, and transactions. If you can't see these, there may be connection issues.

See this link to learn more about the error 105 and how to fix it: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online

Let me know what happens after trying out the steps. I'll be waiting for an update from you so I can help you further anytime. Have a good one!

Hi Kristan

As per above message I'd tried this, however just in case I've just tested again with no joy.

Thanks

Christian

Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, CJ_Aus.

I appreciate you for performing the troubleshooting steps provided by my colleagues. The banking error 105 usually means there may be a problem on your bank's end. It's possible their website may be undergoing maintenance or have server issues causing online bank connection issues to QuickBooks.

Since it's beyond 48 hours and the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support. From there, they'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Help (?) icon.

  3. You'll be asked about your concern, and you'll need to enter and send it.
  4. If you can't see any related topics to your issue on what they shared, select No, get me a human.
  5. Then, click Contact Us.
  6. Choose either Callback or Chat.

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but I thought you might like to know that QBO has archived (aka censured) the Macquarie Bank Feed thread.

yeah saw that i got a message from them saying i couldn't post case numbers (fair enough) and that my post was removed, however the whole thread's just disappeared...

The short answer is that Quickbooks/Intuit closed my case without resolving it.  Amex is still working on it.  At the prices Intuit charges, they need to be more responsive.

If your account(s) are "business accounts", not personal or corp., you should be ok.

If AMEX doesn't fix the issue I am closing my account and no longer going to recommend Intuit.  AMEX is 70% of all of my transactions :(

I have wasted at least 20 hours on this!!!!

0. Use Firefox or Chrome

1.  In QB banking, Re-enter you Amex username and password

2. Redo the text verification (usually have to do the text verification at least twice)

3.  Go to banking and hit update
