After updating to the draft 2020.0.0 version i tried to carryforward 2019 file to test a scenario knowing it would be a draft .
This version 2020.0.0 does not offer carry forward of 2019 tax file. It only offers 2018 directory? It only offers .18T at the file type box even though i can locate the data directory for 2019Returns
I run Profile20 T1. Thanks for any solution or do i have to wait for another update?
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
As a troubleshooting step, try creating a new 2020 T1. If this cannot be created try using proreg: instructions are found at this link. This should resolve the issue if the tab for carry forward 2019T1 is not available
Hope this helps
the link worked to create the 2019 directory. I then closed the file after carrying forward the 2019 file.. Upon trying to re-open i get "You have attempted to create a pre-2015 T1/TP! return. Profile20 only supports 2015 and later T!/TP1 returns.""
It does have the .20T extension and the file is stored in a directory outside of the normal default (as are all my others from prior years). I can open those. I tried by clicking directly on the saved file outside of Profile20 program expecting the file association to work perhaps. It did not and got same message. I don't think this program was sufficiently tested before roll-out
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
The carry forward process to create 2020 test returns, they are only draft and therefore for review only, is working properly. This issue may relate to the fact that this is 2019 Profile 20. Call us at 1-800-452-9970 for an agent to help determine the cause of this for your scenario.
Hope this helps
