I'm confused.

According to Quickbooks the feed with HSBC Net is available with a caveat that if I get an error message I need to go to HSBC Net to get them to update permissions. When I go to HSBC Net however they say there is no such service and it's only available with Sage and Xero.

Is anyone able to use Quickbooks with HSBC Net for automating the feed?

I can share some inputs about connecting your HSBC bank, Mark.

Yes, you got it correct. HSBC is now available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) open banking. With this, you can manage your finances and cash flow in a real-time view.

You can check out this article for more details: Understanding if you can connect your bank feeds to Open Banking.

If you haven't connected your HSBC bank, you'll want to connect it to view it in your QBO account. If this is not the case, I recommend disconnecting your bank and reconnect as an open banking connection. Let me walk you through the steps.

To disconnect your bank account:

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Select your HSBC bank
  3. Click the Edit (pencil) icon in the tile, then select Edit account info.
  4. Select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Then click Save and close.

To reconnect your bank account:

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Select Add account or Link account.
  3. Then follow the steps to connect the account to online banking again.

You can also see this link for more details: Open Banking connection errors.

If the issue persists after going through the steps above, I propose contacting our Support team. This way, they'll add you to the list of affected users and be notified via email of any updates. Rest assured, they are working diligently to resolve this as soon as possible.

Once everything is all set, you might want to read these links for reference. these can guide you through the steps on how to categorise transactions and match your accounts flawlessly:

Please bear with us as we're working to fix this. If you have other questions about connecting bank account or any QBO related issue, you can always get back to me. I'm always here ready to back you up!

Thanks for this.

However my bank - HSBC Net - completely insist that the service is absolutely not available with Quickbooks. One of you must be wrong.

Are there any Quickbooks customers who can use HSBC Net on an automated basis?

An update.

Some good news - I've now resolved the issue with HSBC Net and have established a connection.

However I'm now being told in Quickbooks that "something unexpected happened and we can't connect to HSBC Net (Uk). Try again in a few hours (590). Is the 590 an error code that you recognise?

Hi markblakemore The 590 error is a self resolving error that should disappear within 48 hours. If it persits after this time frame we recommend that you disconnect and reconnect the account.
