Password Reset Error

Hello,

I have been trying to get an older version of QB Desktop working. I have received various suggestions and in the process it seems most of the files I try opening now tell me wrong password. When I try resetting password I have received various errors

1) internet connection but I reset password of one account 5 minutes before on that computer and receive error on multiple computers

2) Can't verify but info worked with other account

3) Admin password recently reset

4) Try Later

5) Couldn't make change

Is there a way for support to verify?

I have tried resetting using QB2014 and QB2018. With various comments I'm thinking I should use 2014. I cannot get 2018 to connect to account for verification. Once I type in username and click next to get to password screen it just spins circles. If the company already exist can I just always skip this? Starting new company would be issue but can try to start it with QB 2014 and register then convert to 2018

Thanks

Last resort, you can purchase a 3rd party service to reset your Admin password.

Password Reset Error

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, artamous.

You can reset your password for QuickBooks 2019 and earlier versions by using the I forgot my password option from your login window.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. From the login screen, click I forgot my password.
  3. Enter the information requested on your form. You'll need the product's license number, which can be obtained by holding down F2 on your keyboard from the login window. Your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code used when purchasing the product will also be necessary. All of this data can be found when signed in to your Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs).
  4. Select OK. If the info you entered is correct, you'll get a code to your primary email in the CAMPs account. Emails from Intuit can show up in your spam folder, so be sure to check spam and junk folders if you don't see it in the inbox folder.
  5. QuickBooks will guide you through creating a new admin password.

If your password reset doesn't work, try double-checking the information you're entering. Check for any typos and confirm the info matches what's in CAMPs. In the event you receive an error, try your Automated Password Reset tool.

You can also get in touch with our Customer Care team if the problem continues. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

I've also included a detailed resource about managing passwords which may come in handy moving forward: Reset your password
