Can I make the write checks different colors to match certain accounts? Would be nice so as to know which account I'm writing checks from clearly

Hello, RanchWife.
There are several options to customize write checks in QuickBooks Desktop. However, assigning different colors is not available.
For now, you’ll get to know which account you’re writing with by checking it above the check image.

Yes, this is In the Desktop programs. It isn't as great as it used to be, but it still exists.
Open any Bank account as a Register View. Now use Edit Menu > Change Account Color. Make it something Bold. Then click OK to see the change.
Now use Ctl W or Write Check. Notice the Border Outline is that Color. We used to get the entire check as that color; but this still works.
Thanks. All my accounts are different colors but the outside of the checks regardless which account is still a bold black?
Remember,. we cannot see Your Computer.
"All my accounts are different colors"
Do you mean, the Register View?
"but the outside of the checks regardless which account is still a bold black?"
My Register Views show the alternating color rows for the color I chose. The Check View for a check from that bank account, shows a green body with an Outline, and just inside of the Black Border, that inner border or Outline, is the Color from the Register.
I realize this isn't as nice as it used to be and as a peer user that also Teaches that very lesson, this is my point: we used to see the entire check not "green" but Matching the color we chose for the Register view. I taught it in every class, by teasing them not to Blind the student sitting behind them, and not selecting Fluorescent Yellow.
And this is now the best you can get from this program. Intuit reprogrammed all of this in QB 2013. I was told they hired Android programmers to get that "flat style" that was Trending at that time. You should have seen how hard we All Star Users had to complain, to even get the Title Bar Colors Option returned to us. That didn't even come back to us until QB 2013 Release 4, if I remember correctly. We fought hard to get any color options returned to our control.
Ok I'll have to look into that . No my checkbook does not have the color of my register on it. (or the color outline)The screenshot helps a lot! Thanks I'll look! would be great if the check you were writing was the same color as your register account but one can only hope
Ok thanks. I looked and my register colors and they're not bright enough..one of the account color is...so I now see what your talking about. So I'll just have to pay better attention or be blinded by my register colors :smileyvery-happy:
