Does quickbooks sync up with Etsy to import all transactions? ie sales, fees, shipping charges? Quickbooks Self-employed does this but I cannot find how to on Quickbooks.

Hi there, lovingthyselfroc.

For now, integration between Etsy and QuickBooks is only available in the Self-Employed version. You might want to look for third-party applications that can bridge Etsy and QuickBooks Online.

You can also send feedback about Etsy integration to our product engineers. Just go to the Gear icon and click Feedback

Hello there, WordWorks.

QuickBooks Online lets you import transactions like fees using a CSV file. You can use either a 3 or 4-column format.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking, then choose Banking.
  2. Click the Update drop-down arrow, then choose File upload.
  3. Click Browse.
  4. Choose the file, then click Next.
  5. Choose the account where you want to import the fees, then click Next.
  6. Map the fields, then click Next.
  7. When prompted to import now, click Yes.
  8. Click Let's go

You can check this article for more information: How to import bank transactions using Excel CSV files.

@Matt Corcoran

They won't share any product roadmap publicly. Consider having a connector as the workaround.

So you are saying, I need to manually type in each of the 380 transactions this year into Quickbooks. I have the 2019 version and I use it offline.

Thank you for joining the thread, @CaronDesigns.

You don't need to enter the transactions manually. With QuickBooks Desktop, you can manually prepare an Excel file for 380 transactions, then manually upload it into QuickBooks.

First, get the transaction from your bank or Esty and save the (.QBO) file to your computer. Then, import the transactions so they become available in your Bank Feeds.

  1. From the Banking menu, select Bank Feeds, then Import Web Connect Files.
  2. Select the QBO file you saved, then select Open.
  3. When prompted to Select Bank Account, select:
    • Use an existing QuickBooks account if the account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks.
    • Create a new QuickBooks account if the account you're importing transactions into isn't in QuickBooks yet. Learn how to create an account.
  4. Select Continue. You'll see a dialogue box telling you that the data has been successfully read into QuickBooks. Select OK.
  5. Go to the Bank Feeds Center to review your transactions.

@CaronDesigns

As I mentioned earlier, you may need a 3rd party connector to migrate data automatically from Etsy to your QBO account.

Our first task is to create the customer invoice. Refer to the link below for the steps to add one: Create an invoice in QuickBooks Desktop

Once done, we need to receive the payment then deposit it to the amount to the Undeposited Funds. Here's how:

  1. On the invoice, click the Receive Payments button. You can also go to the Customers menu then Receive Payments.
  2. Select the correct invoice on the Customer Payment screen.
  3. In the Deposit to field, choose Undeposited Funds.
  4. Click Save and close

Now, enter a Bank Deposit for the fees. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Banking menu then choose Make Deposits.
  2. Mark the invoice payment you received previously from the Payments to Deposit window then press OK.
  3. In the Received From column, enter the Etsy fee vendor.
  4. For the Account column, add an expense account for fees.
  5. Enter a negative fee in the Amount field (Example: -4.00).
  6. Make sure the deposit matches the net bank deposit amount.
  7. Click Save and close.

Also, if you want to integrate Etsy transactions and other data from apps outside QuickBooks, you will need a connector to do it. We have a variety of tools that work with our software.

You can find QuickBooks compatible apps in our website here: https://desktop.apps.com/home

We also have a separate forum called Intuit Developers, where you can find engineers who can help recommend third-party applications. In this website, you can connect with developers who can help with app integrations. Click this link to our website: Intuit Developers Community.

If you need anything else, please let me know in the comment below. I'll be right here to help you further with your Etsy entries. Happy holidays!

Hello,

Can I possibly upload the etsy transactions with fees, shipping and other fees by batch to quickbook desktop pro plus 2021 without having to connect to an app?

Yes, you can upload the Etsy transactions by batch using our WebConnect feature in QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2021, teanea.

You can upload your fees, shipping, and other transactions from Etsy without having to connect an app in QuickBooks. Let me walk you through the process:

  1. Click Banking at the top menu bar.
  2. From the drop-down list, choose Bank Feeds and select Import Web Connect File.
  3. Select the QBO file you saved, then click Open.
  4. When prompted to Select Bank Account, select:
    • Use an existing QuickBooks account if the Etsy account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks.
    • Create a new QuickBooks account if the account (Etsy) you're importing transactions into isn't in QuickBooks yet. Learn how to create an account.
  5. Hit Continue. You'll see a dialogue box telling you that the data has been successfully read into QuickBooks. Select OK.

Once uploaded, I recommend editing, assigning, and categorizing your transactions. Also, you can match them to the existing entries in the software. Doing so will help you ensure the accuracy of your financial records.

To know more about the bank feeds process, check out this article: Get started with Bank Feeds for QuickBooks Desktop. This will provide you ways on how to connect your bank with QuickBooks as well as a link on how to edit your settings.

Please know that I'm just a post away should you need anything else or if you have any bank feeds concerns. I'm always here to help and ensure that your questions are addressed accordingly. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

How to create QBO or QBD file for Etsy sales transactions? I'm currently using QB Desktop Pro Plus 2021. What are the data with column names to put into the QBD file? Is there a desired format of data for the QBD file?

Hello again, @teanea.

Once you download transactions from your bank, QuickBooks opens them from a file with a .qbo extension in which you can import the file to quickly get transactions into your bank register.

To know more about importing data in QuickBooks Desktop, see this article: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.
