Question

How do you import a bank statement that is in a PDF format? I do not have an option to export as a CSV or anything else.

QBO accepts four different bank file types, info95.

At this time, there's no option to import bank transactions in PDF format. Aside from using CSV files, you can also use any of the following:

  • Quicken (QFX)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Microsoft Money (OFX)

Here's an article for more details: How to upload more than 90 days of bank transactions.

You can reach out to your bank to see if they support any of these file types. If they don't, please visit our App Center to find a third-party app that can convert the file you have to the available types in QBO.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions by leaving a reply below. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

I have this same issue. How can I know which third party app might support conversion of pdf into CSV or suitable format?

Hi, LucyMichelle.

You can easily find the right app for you by searching it with the correct keywords. If you’re looking for an app that’ll import your PDF data, you can use the keyword “import PDF or CSV converter."

Also, each of the application in the apps.intuit.com have their Overviews. These are used to know the app’s main functionality.

Keep posting your questions if you need anything else.

With Adobe Acrobat, it should be easy to convert from PDF to Excel and save as CSV file.

You can also Google "how to convert pdf file to excel" for more info.
