Transactions from TD checking account- memos are not downloading properly since last week. They are being cut off after a few words.

The transaction memos used to contain the entire description as shown in our TD account, not only a few words are shown. This usually doesn't contain the vendor information so we have to manually fix all of them.

Hello, abross-radfertil.

Please ensure that the Show bank details and Copy bank details to the memo aren't turned off. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Banking menu, then the Banking tab.
  2. Click the Gear icon located on the banking page.
  3. Ensure that Show bank details and Copy bank detail to memo box are selected.

If the issue persists, let's run some troubleshooting steps to fix this. Sometimes too much cache stored on a browser can cause unusual behavior in the program. You can start by downloading the files again using an incognito window. This helps since it doesn't save any site data. Before proceeding, please delete those transactions already download to prevent duplicates. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Also, you can use a different supported browser to further isolate.

Additionally, I've included this article for your reference: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. This contains helpful information in ensuring all downloaded transactions are placed in the correct account.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. I'm here to help. Have a great one.

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried all this and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. The memo on the transactions is now always something generic like "VISA DDA PUR” or "INTL DDA PUR” where before it was more descriptive, including the vendor name.

This seems to have started with transactions after 1/25/2022, and I don’t believe anything was changed on our end. We can still see the full descriptive memos in our TD online account.
