i use desktop pro 2018. i understand there is no longer online banking support. i manually import my transactions, however now i get an error that quickbooks does not support the account type. is there anyway to get around this without typing every entry in? i am not interested in upgrading.

I've got you covered, @erkatz. I can share with you other options on how to upload transactions in QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018.

You're right that access to QuickBooks Online Banking and other services through QuickBooks Desktop 2018 software has been discontinued beginning May 31, 2021. For more information, please visit this page: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.

If you wish to continue using the feature, I recommend upgrading your software to the latest release. Otherwise, you can use a third-party application that can handle QIF available on the Intuit Marketplace.

Additionally, I'll be sharing this resource about the process of uploading data in QuickBooks: Download Bank Feed transactions. Once done adding the entry into QuickBooks, you can start reviewing and matching them. This is to link the transactions together to avoid duplicates.

Hi @Rubielyn_J thanks for the speedy response, however maybe there was something i didn't understand.

why do i need something to support qif files?

i used to download qbo files from my bank, when i try to manually upload now i receive the error message: "you are trying to upload the web connect file with an account type that Quickbooks does not support. Please contact your financial institution for details." i know they are qbo files, i have done it before.

were you describing a work around for me or telling me to use another platform? this did not happen before.
