1099 Alignment in desktop

My 1099s need to move up just a line, but everytime I try to align them, I get an unrecoverable error when I try to print the sample.  I only have 13 1099s and have spent all day on this now.  I have run every possible update and tool hub fix.  Nothing is working.  I hate to think that I am going to have to pay a 3rd party again this year just because the forms I ordered from QB won't work with their program.

Hello, mdinks.

Let me help you align and print your 1099 form. To start, ensure that your pre-printed forms are ready.

Open the 1099 Wizard and follow the prompt until you reach the Choose a filing method window. Follow the steps below to align and print the forms:

  1. Click the Print 1099s button.
  2. Select the range (of date) the 1099s were paid from and tap OK.
  3. Pick the form 1099(s) you want to print and tap the Preview 1099 button.
  4. If the alignment is still incorrect, go to the File menu at the top-left corner and select Printer Setup
  5. Close the 1099s/1096 from the list in Form Name.
  6. Choose the Align button and adjust alignment as needed.
  7. Hit OK twice to save the changes.

Once done, print the 1099 forms again. You can also check out the Make fine alignment adjustments section of this link for details on printer setup: Align, checks, invoices, and other forms for continuous-feed (dot matrix) printers

Kindly update me on how it works so I can provide some more troubleshooting when you need it. I'll be right here anytime. Stay safe!

That is how I was doing it to begin with.  As I mentioned, everytime I tried to align, I received an unrecoverable error, which then shut down Quickbooks. I called support and was told I would need to pay for support.  I pay for my payroll license.  I pay for my QB license. And I purchased the forms from Intuit.  I shouldn't have to pay for help with the products I have purchased.  I ended up working around the issue.I printed to pdf and then edited my pdf to align with the form.  I shouldn't have had to do that, but I spent way too much time trying to fix it on the QB end.
