I need to add an additional EIN  to my existing payroll subscription.   How do I do that?

Hello MSMountains,

QuickBooks Online Payroll can only support one company account per EIN. Attempts to add another EIN may cause errors.

If you have two companies with two EIN’s, you’ll need to subscribe to an additional QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription. Here’s how to sign up:

  1. Log in to this page
  2. Click on the radio button for BUY NOW.
  3. Identify the version of QBO that is right for you and click the Buy now button.
  4. If you already have an Intuit user ID, supply that user ID and password or create a new one.
  5. Sign in to add an additional company.

On the other hand, if you have changed to another business type, you’ll need to sign up for a new account and cancel the old one. You don’t need to transfer your old transactions to your new account.

Is it on the road-map for QBO to support more than 1 EIN per account? This would be very helpful for organizations with multiple locations. Is there a place I can submit ideas for features or vote for new features?

I can see how this options and functionality would be helpful for both you and your organization. QBO is constantly changing and evolving based largely on the suggestions and requests of users, like yourself. You can submit your feedback from within your QBO account by selecting the Gear icon and Feedback or by going to the following link: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests.
