Buy nowI have a client that uses QBO payroll core with automatic payroll filing and paying. Just discovered that QBO filed the 2026 1st quarter TX Unemployment report on January 29, 2026. We got a notice that the 2025 4th quarter report was late, which we thought was odd, since QBO said it was filed 1/29/26, and now we know why. Now the 2026 1st quarter TX Unemployment report was rejected because it was already filed (incorrectly by QBO) and now we have to amend it for our client, as QBO said that amending is not available at the payroll core level...even though it was a QBO error. I am beyond frustrated with Intuit. They need to stop paying so much for advertising and start fixing their program to avoid these kinds of errors. And if they had any consideration for their customers paying the subscription pricing, QBO would make it right when they make an error. Step up, Intuit!
Please do not give me an AI response bot trying to sooth this over.
I guess you should be glad that at least they can file the unemployment report in TX. I'm trying to do the report in NY and they are telling me it can't submit because I'm five days after the payroll period. Payroll periods are done via vouchers in NY over $700, and UI is submitted with the quarterlies. But they just close my case as "working as designed." I also love that they suggest I pay with a paper check when NY mandates electronic payments..........
Took me four hours on Friday to get a case opened only for them to close it as working as designed this morning at 5am. Without contacting me back on it.
And I would be okay with them just saying - "It's broken, we're working on it. Do it on your own." Instead they gaslight me into thinking I'm doing something incorrectly. I don't think they employ any regional tax experts. And I'm beginning to understand why people pay so much for products like ADP. They figure it out and send you the journal entries to sync with your accounting software.
I am NOT one bit surprised they make errors when paying your taxes. What they think is going to happen July 1st when they FORCE everyone to sign up for automated payroll tax payments! They are going to mess up everyone's taxes and then make everyone else pay for their mistakes. We are looking for a new software for payroll that works with QuickBooks. Do you know of any?
Directly - no. I do a bit of work writing integrations for software and I have yet to be asked to integrate a third party payroll application with Quickbooks. Other accounting platforms seem less enthusiastic about running their own payroll solutions so I’ve done payroll integration there. I’m mainly dealing with online or cloud providers though so there may be something for the people still using desktop.
After all my complaining on forums I finally ended up with a response but I won’t know if my problem was actually fixed until next year. I’m small so holding $$ as it accrues has less impact on my business - I’m not losing any significant interest payments here.
