Sync license data online

Damaged licensing data or firewall that is not properly configured causes Sync license data online error when opening QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale

Solution 1: Rename the Intuit Entitlement Client folder

Note: The Entitlement Client folder is a hidden folder. You may need to Display hidden files and folders or search for files using Windows before performing the following steps.

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows+R to open the Run command.
  2. Copy and paste the path C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client, then press Enter.
  3. Right-click on the the folder v8, then select Rename.
  4. Rename the folder to v8(OLD).

Solution 2: Configure Firewall settings

 If the issue persists, configure any firewall applications to allow QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale processes. Refer to Firewall configuration for QuickBooks Point of Sale for details.
