Error codes -6150, -1006

Hi,

I'm having issues opening my company file. When talking to support they said the company file damage is 78%. How do I fix this? I'm getting a lot of the following error codes as well (below). The person I spoke to said I'm having a syncing issue, but could not transfer me to someone who could help. I was unable to use the QB file doctor, I received an error for that as well.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue. the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue"

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I'll walk you through the process to get this resolved so you can get back to business, brettGC.

The errors (6150 and 1006) you've encountered indicate a potential data integrity issue. Usually, this can be caused by internal (within QuickBooks) or external (file location) factors. To get rid of them, we'll have to install the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of QuickBooks Tool Hub and then run the File Doctor utility.

For the best experience, we recommend using this tool on Windows 10, 64-bit. Furthermore, when you encounter unhandled exceptions, just click the Continue button so the application will ignore it and continue to diagnose data problems. Here's how to use it:

  1. Go to Company File Issues.
  2. Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor
  3. Select your company file from the drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Check your file, then tap Continue.
  5. Enter your admin password and click Next.

Once finished, open your company file again. Take note that the scan may say it was unsuccessful even if the problem is already resolved.

Occasionally, the CryptoWall virus and other malicious software can affect your files and prevent you from opening the program. Follow these steps to perform a quick check:

  1. Click the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Search for and open your QuickBooks folder. It’s usually on your C: drive.
  4. Look for files that contain words like “decrypt” or “instructions” with .txt or .html extensions.

If you don't come across any files matching this description, your computer is in good condition. However, if you encounter one, please contact your anti-virus provider for assistance in removing the malware.

@brettGC

When talking to support they said the company file damage is 78%.

Did they show you that 78%?

How did you call Support team?

Hi,

When I called the support team they used the screen share to run the QBWin.log

At the bottom it said the percentage, however when I ran the report myself the percentage did not show.

The QuickBooks tool hub does not seem to work - I've ran the File Doctor and tried to open the QBWinlog Folder.

We just purchased the update for the 2023 QuickBooks desktop - we did not have this issue before we switched.

How big is your file size?

Try creating the backup file on QBD 2023 and restore it with a new name.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean, we run our backups weekly and don't have an issue with running a back up, but we are having an issues with the file being corrupt and we can't open it on the other computer.

The technical support I called did not show me how to get back to run the log to see the percentage on the corruption. I guess I need to call back in..

The file size is 269.12MB.

You can try to restore your backup file to create a new company file with a new name. If you encounter the same problem, consider running the Condense Data utility to trim your file size. If the same problem persists, your company file is indeed corrupted. You can try to get a second opinion from a 3rd party service provider.

@AP Bookkeeping

3 weeks ago you have mentioned this

I have already employed QuickBooks File Doctor and attempted to upload the file to Data Service; however, they declined to offer assistance.

Try to contact Intuit Support again and ask them to fix your issue for free. If they still decline or unable to help, you should consider a 3rd party solution with a good reputation as the last resort.
