It’s my utmost goal that you can open your QuickBooks, Nanners.
When you click on the QuickBooks icon many times, it can result in the program not responding. It is better to wait for a while and give enough time for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to launch.
If you get the same result after following the suggestion, let’s download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub to resolve common errors or issues when using the program. We recommend lodging it on Windows 10, 64-bit. Then run a quick repair from the Tools Hub. I’m here to walk you through the process.
Make sure to close your QuickBooks.
Next, download the latest version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and then save the file where you can locate it easily.
Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe link and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
Once done, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to access the tool hub.
Head to the Program Problems menu on the left panel and choose Quick Fix my Program to run a repair.
We’ve collated resources to help users complete all accounting tasks in QBDT. From there, you’ll see topics about taxes, payroll, handle customer or vendor-related activities, to name a few.

One of my accounts takes 60-75 seconds to open. I tried QB tools repair and it did not seem to need fixing or didn't work. My QB program is an upgrade from an older version to 2020) . All my other accounts open fine. What to do?
Let's go over some troubleshooting steps so you can open your QuickBooks seamlessly, Marylou520.
Before we begin, allow me to provide some of the causes of the error.
The QuickBooks desktop file/files are corrupted, missing, or damaged.
There is corruption in the Windows registry.
QuickBooks component doesn’t start properly or the DLL files are missing or corrupted.
Some antivirus programs accidentally block the desktop program from loading essential files. To move past the error, let's check the area of your QuickBooks that lists blocked files or sometimes called your “quarantine”.
If you see any of the following listed below in your quarantine, make sure to give them permission to go through your firewall. Usually, these files are located in C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks (year). Files with (x86) in the location, such as C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 20XX, are 64-bit versions.
If you continue to get the same result, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the program files causing 80029c4a. I suggest you create a backup copy of the company file to prevent accidental loss.
Once done, let's go ahead and uninstall your QuickBooks. Here's how:
Open the Windows Start menu.
Search for “Control Panel” and open Control Panel.
Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
From the list of programs, choose the version of QuickBooks Desktop you wish to remove.
Select Uninstall/Change, Remove, and then Next.
If you don’t see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights). After performing these steps, you can reinstall your QuickBooks. Head to Step 2 in this article for detailed instructions: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.
