Wave vs. QBO

A potential client used to use QuickBooks but had trouble getting the correct reports to their CPA so switched to Wave. What would you say to recommend that they switch back to QuickBooks if I take them on as a client?

Wave vs. QBO

Most likely their old bookkeeper only knows Wave. Unless you want to learn Wave, you'll have to ask them to convert the data to QBO. They can purchase a third-party conversion service if necessary.

Wave vs. QBO

Thanks for checking in with us, Bridges Bookkeeping.

You can inform them that running reports is easy and financial reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) give them tons of great info about their business. Also, dozens of reports tell them about different aspects of their business. Some focus on sales, others focus on your spending, and some look at parts of each. If they want more details, they can customize reports to focus on specific accounts or filter for specific things. Here's how to run basic reports:

  1. Go to Reports (Take me there).
  2. Use the Find report by name search bar to search for reports by name. You can also browse the list.
  3. Select the report to open it. If you change the dates or add filters to the report, select Run report to apply them.

You can check out this article for more details about running reports in QuickBooks: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. If they want to convert their company data from Wave into QBO, they check for a third-party application that can help them with data migration. Check out this link for a list of QuickBooks-compatible apps: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/

Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account should be directed to the app's third-party provider. Feel free to visit this article for more details about managing your financial reports in the program: Reports

Feel free to get back to me here in the Community space if you need further assistance with this matter. You can also post here again if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. It'll be my pleasure to cater to them again. Stay safe.
