Scam Call

I truly feel its an inside job. Unfortunately, I got trapped by them and tried to run my service out when it expired Jan 15 this year to just finish it up and they locked me out of my account prior so I couldn't get my P&L for last year for taxes and now am recreating all of last year.  These people are criminals!

As long as they employ third party L1 customer service, these scams will not stop. Log into your CAMPS and change your phone number to avoid their calls. You may also consider renewing your license through selected partners.

You can use the trial version to access your historical data for good. You don't need to recreate anything.

Scam Call

Well the QB scammers are back at it.  I too got the call from someone with an overseas accent and was informed about a data security issue.  What is a resource we can go to to verify the legit of the phone calls or emails that we are receiving?

Scam Call

Hello there, CarolCEO.

I appreciate you all for sharing this type of concern here with us in the Community.  I'm here to share additional details to identify and prevent fraud calls and emails from parties asserting to be affiliated with Intuit.

Scammers send out emails to trick users into sharing personal information or download malware-infected attachments to gain unauthorized access to data sources. They also appear and claim to be associated with Intuit. Please note that Intuit emails will always come from an email address with the domain name @intuit.com. Let's make sure not to open or access any of the links that don't have that domain name.

On the other hand, I want to inform you that Intuit will only initiate contact if you request a call back from our support about an issue in QuickBooks. Also, outbound calls from a QuickBooks representative should not ask for any personal information.

If you want to report the call, you can reach out to our Security Team to ensure your data is well protected.

Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://security.intuit.com/contact-us.
  2. Search for Report technical support scams.
  3. Hit Report tech support scams.

Moreover, if you continue receiving any suspicious emails and suspected fraudulent activities, you can also send an email to spoof@intuit.com.

Furthermore, check out the following articles to learn more about managing scams or any other fraudulent activities:

I'll be around if you need more help managing your Intuit account or with suspicious emails. Please keep safe always.

Ever heard of Phishing or Spoofing?  Yeah, THAT will make it look identical to Intuit.  STOP telling customers different.  There is NO way to actually prove emails or phone numbers are legit.

I feel the same frustration. Quickbooks used to be very economical for our small business, but now we are seriously looking into other options. Just today they called insisting that we hadn't upgraded to the latest version and therefore were going to loose all our company files. But they make it so difficult to upgrade that it's almost not worth it. Where is the customer service and simple programming we used to know? I'm increasingly disappointed. I would like Quickbooks to make a version that isn't 5x more expensive then the previous version and that allows us to do the basics which is all we use!

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?

Scam Call

We still have some places that don't need Payroll and therefore use older Desktop versions. The call we received recently was regarding the 4 new Desktop versions that we purchased last year which are on the very expensive annual subscription plan. They were purchased as 2023 and need to be somehow updated to 2024. And the subscription renewal costs twice more than what we used to pay for a Desktop version that we could pay once and keep "forever." We are not happy about it.

Unfortunately, Intuit no longer offers outright desktop software purchase - just annual subscription-based QB with multiple user options - or QB online, which I detest.  Really distasteful, since it used to be you only had to update your software once every three years (if you wanted a supported version).

If you don't need to run any add-ons (e,g QB Payroll, QB Payment), you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA. They may share another option to lower your costs.

Scam Call

7/10/24 Received a call from 442-287-1777. Indian woman claiming to be from Intuit. Saying that my software is not synchronizing with Intuits servers. The caller ID from their call said 'Calimex'. They were very convincing, until they wanted to log into my computer.  When I questioned that it was a different website than they normally use for access, I asked for their phone number to call them back. When I called back there was no answer.

I then called the legitimate Intuit / Quickbooks 800 phone number and they verified that it was not them who had called me. Beware because these people were very convincing, even to a skeptic like me.
