Assigning Invoice Templates via API

Does the QuickBooks Online API support the ability to assign invoice templates to an invoice either at creation or via update?

I know how to do this in the user interface, but we are writing an app that generates invoices (quite a few of them) automatically. We'd like to be able to programmatically assign invoice templates based on various data criteria. Is there a way to do this via the API? I looked and didn't see anything obvious in the documentation.
