Hi there, @krys2.

Yes, you can add multiple accounts to your checking account. From your Chart of Accounts, you can set up these accounts as sub-accounts.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Hit New.
  4. Select the account type and detail type.
  5. Mark the Is sub-account box, then enter the parent account (your checking account).
  6. Enter the account's name and description.
  7. Fill in the other information.
  8. Hit on Save and Close.

You can learn more about setting up subaccounts from this link: Create subaccounts in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

If you're connecting these accounts to QuickBooks, you can learn more about the process of linking parent and sub-accounts from this article: About bank or credit card subaccount setup.

Once your account is connected, the system will automatically download your latest bank transactions. Here's how you can review and categorize them: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the reply!  This question is in regards the "Quickbooks Checking Account", not external accounts that I link to QBO.  Does this still apply?  I can't seem to find a user management interface for this account although I entered my husbands info when signing up for the account.  Thanks so much for the info!
