I would like to look at totals in each transaction category. Is there a report I can run that allows this? If so, how do I run it?

Hello there, @Ali94.

Hope you're having a good day! I'll provide information about the report you mentioned.

The Transaction Detail by Account report is currently available in the QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. It's specifically located under the For my accountant section in the Reports menu.

You may have downgraded your subscription to Simple Start. If you wish to upgrade, you can follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Select Settings ⚙ and then Account and settings.
  3. Select the Billing & subscription tab.
  4. Make sure your payment info is up-to-date.
  5. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  6. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  7. Follow the on-screen steps to upgrade your plan.

Once done, go back to the Reports menu and check if you can see Transaction Detail by Account. You can also check out these quick guides about running reports in QBO:

You can also check out this article that lists all available reports on each QBO subscription: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription

Please know that I'll be right here to help you if you have any other questions about running reports in QuickBooks Online. I'll be always happy to help you!

You can pull up the Transaction Detail by Account report. You have the option to modify it to display the details you need. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and type Transaction Detail by Account on the search bar.
  2. Set the Report period.
  3. Click the Customize button.

  4. Under Filter, choose a Transaction typeAccounts, and Customer.
  5. Click Run Report.

For more details on personalizing your reports, you can read this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the reply! My screen doesn't show "Transaction Detail by Account." It only lists the following:

1) Transaction List by Vendor

2) 1099 Transaction Detail Report

3) Transaction List by Date

4) Recent Transactions

5) Transaction list by Tag Group

Is one of there equivalent?
