When I try to export a specific GL from the balance sheet to excel I get an error message: 'something went wrong, we are working on it'. But if I try to export the entire balance sheet, it works just fine. I've tried with multiple accounts, and get the same error message.

Here is the work around I was given by QBO chat operator...
pull up the transaction report.
Afterwards, click save customization.>> Click reports>> click custom reports>> click the drop down arrow>> export to excel.
This worked for me, hopefully it will help others until the issue is resolved.
Hey there, HWS.
Our product engineers have been alerted about this error and are already working for a permanent fix.
For now, you'll want to contact QuickBooks Online Customer Care so a phone agent can add you to the list of affected users. Then, you'll receive an update through your email.
Please let me know if you have any other concerns. Have a good one!
I'm getting the same message when trying to export transaction journal to Excel. I've been trying for 48 hours.... Still no luck. Messaged the help desk and haven't heard anything back.
We're still working on getting this issue fixed for you, knf0678.
There will be a delay in response from our help desk due to high chat volume. That's probably why you haven't heard from them yet.
While there's no available fix at this time, I'd suggest calling our Customer Care Team. They will add you to the list of affected users, so you'll get an email notification when a solution is available.
You can get our phone number by opening the link that is provided by my colleague @Kristine Mae on this thread. Just scroll up and click the QuickBooks Online Customer Care link.
I appreciate your patience on this. Feel free to reply to this thread if you need anything else.

Please know that our doors are always open here in the Community space. Stay in touch if you have any other QuickBooks concerns in the future. Have a good day!
This is not solved. I can export some reports but not all and the custom work around does not meet my needs.
Hello there, @Anonymous.
Allow me to join this thread. The investigation about the error you encountered when exporting a report to Excel is still an ongoing issue.
Though some users were able to export their report by following the workaround provided by @HWS, others were not. You can run the report and copy then paste it directly to Excel until a resolution is found.
In case you haven’t given our Customer Care Team a call to add your account to the list of affected users, please do so. Just ask the phone agent to attach your case number to INV-23844, so you’ll be notified of any updates available once received.
You can find our contact information through this article: Get help with QuickBooks Online.
We thank you for your patience and understanding. Please let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below. I’ll be on a look out for your response.
I have QUICKBOOKS ACCOUNTANT DESKTOP 2019 and I started receiving an error message like this since last two days.
I was on a phone with the Tech support - LEVEL 2 for a few hours but she could not resolve my issue either.
I am also getting attached error message when I tried to email the report in an Excel format.
I am using Office 365 Excel Version 2016 MSO (16.0.9126.2336) 64-bit.
This is the most recent version I just installed.
I also installed the recent version of QuickBooks with the help of the Tech. support.
Hello there, apexhospitality.
Microsoft Office 365 is compatible with QuickBooks 2019. You shouldn't have encountered any issues.
It's possible that Microsoft released an update which caused the errors in QuickBooks. You'll want to check with the Microsoft support and verify for any updates or maintenance.
Please don't hesitate to come back anytime in case you have other concerns. Happy holidays!
It seems like QuickBooks is aware of this issue.
Please check the following thread I found online.
