How about when the attachment name is too long and it extends beyond the dotted line box that QBO has? Then the "X" button to remove attachments doesn't exist.
I appreciate for performing the initial troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. Let me help provide some information on why you’re unable to delete the appended documents in the Attachments section.
We’ve received reports that the X menu is no longer available in the Attachments field. This unexpected behavior is already reported to our product engineers.
Rest assured, they’re getting this feature working back to normal. This way, customers can manage their attachments smoothly.
We recommend all affected users signing up for the notification list. This way, you’ll receive email updates once more information is available about the investigation.
Here’s how:
Tap the Help icon at the top to open the QB Assistant window.
In the Assistant tab, scroll down to the Type something field to enter the issue. For example, unable to delete an attachment to a transaction.
Click the Get help from a human link and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
In How would you like to connect with us? section, choose Chat for real-time assistance or Callback to speak with an agent.
Provide this number to our specialists to speed up the process: INV-63110.
Here’s an article that you can read to learn more about: Attachments in QuickBooks Online. It provides detailed information on the supported file format and steps on how to attach a document.
Also, attachments can’t contain special characters in the file name. This is to prevent from encountering any errors. You can browse this guide for more details: Acceptable characters in QuickBooks Online.
I appreciate your patience while we’re working on this. Tap the comment box below if you still need assistance managing your attached documents. I’m always ready to lend a helping hand.
