There are two way to delete attachments from an invoice. You can do it through the Invoice window or through the Attachments page.
Here's how to delete attachments through the Invoice window:
1. Open the invoice.
2. In the Invoice window, go to the Attachments section.
3. Click the remove option (X) on the attachment.
4. Click Save or Save and close.
Here's how to delete attachments through the Attachments page:
1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Attachments.
2. Look for the attachment you want to delete.
3. Click the drop-down menu next to Download and select Delete.
4. Choose Yes to confirm the action.

How about when the attachment name is too long and it extends beyond the dotted line box that QBO has? Then the "X" button to remove attachments doesn't exist.

I tried this to remove attachments to a PO. The receipt was attached to (2) PO's. It did delete it from one PO...but not the other. It stated that it would be removed from both. How Do I delete the attachment from BOTH PO's??

To clarify, did you select both files and try to delete them in batch by selecting Delete from the Action column? Every time you add an attachment, it creates a separate file in the Attachments list. When deleting attachments, we'll have to delete them one by one, regardless of whether they're the same file.

Where has the "x" gone to delete attachments. I don't want to use the gear icon as it deletes all the attachments from existing invoice/jnls. see attached

The 'X' to delete attachments has disappeared for me too. Tested on Chrome, Firefox and Edge. It's gone in all three.

I do not want to use the route using the gear icon as I copy previous invoices and Jnls and it will remove attachments from all the previous jnls with the attachment.
I need to have the x on the bottom attachment box - which is suddenly non existent

Same issue here. Using chrome. Attached screenshot. There is no delete option for old files. When I copy an invoice from last month and update the info for this month, I cannot delete the old attachments. Only add new ones. And there is no scroll bar to see if the X is beyond the limit of the box.
X to delete attachments on bills has disappeared making the ability to copy a previous bill useless. Please recognize this problem and fix asap. - QBO is limited enough and losing this feature is not acceptable.

I found this thread and I am having this issue now where the X to remove an attachment and drag and drop feature is no longer available in the attachment window
I found this thread and I also am having this same issue as others where the "X" to remove an attachment is missing. When I attempt to delete attachments though the Attachment page that doesn't work. I cannot send this invoice with the current attachment and its slowing the process down. Help!

I've tried deleting an attachment from by invoice and was able to successfully remove it. It could that the accumulated cache and cookies in the browser are preventing you from viewing the X icon.
To isolate the issue, you can perform some browser troubleshooting steps. You can start by signing in to your QuickBooks company using a private window. This mode doesn't save your browsing history and site data. Here are the shortcut keys:
If you're now able to remove the attachments, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to start over fresh. Switching to other different browsers can also help resolve the issue.
