How do you migrate historic class data from desktop to online version?

Thank you for quick reply.  I have Accountant Desktop Plus 2024.  I would like to convert to Online Plus, but I understand the standard migration of data will not include my historic class level data, and perhaps I might need to use a thirdparty app for the migration?

How do you migrate historic class data from desktop to online version?

Did you encounter any issue?

Another option, you can use QB Desktop Pro Plus, not Accountant Plus.

How do you migrate historic class data from desktop to online version?

Thank you for reaching out about migrating your historical class data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), Stephen. I will provide details regarding the migration of your data.

Your QBDT classes will either convert or remain as they are in the Online version, as long as you have the QBO Plus subscription. Ensure that this feature is enabled in QBO for a successful migration process.

To get your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) class list to show up in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll need to move your data from QBDT to QBO. You have 60 days from the time you create your QBO account to migrate data into it from QBDT. Initially, you'll want to get your desktop file ready before performing the data migration.

To migrate from QBDT to QBO, we can:

  1. Sign in as an admin to the desktop company file you want to move.
  2. Press Ctrl + 1 to open the Product Information window.
  3. Select Ctrl + B + Q, then choose OK to display the export window.
  4. On the export window, hit Get started.
  5. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  6. Select Choose online company, then select the QuickBooks Online company you want to replace with your company file.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop, hit Yes to bring them over, then specify the as of date
  9. EnterAgreein the text field, then click Replace.
  10. Hit Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.
