Thanks for bringing this to our attention, drpetzke,

I can provide you an update about the Complete setup, Take Action task notice on your QBO dashboard.

Our Support Team has communicated this as an ongoing issue in QuickBooks Online. They found out that QuickBooks is detecting past state information that's incompletely filled out.

As a workaround, you can reactivate one terminated employee from each state set up on your QBO account. That should allow all the states to display in the payroll settings. Once done, input all missing data for each state.

Also, make sure all inactive employees have their complete employee information. That should help circumvent this payroll setup hitch.

In the meantime, if this does not affect your payroll processing, you can ignore the task notice until we resolve the problem. I would also recommend giving our Phone Support Team a call so we can get you added to our notification loop so you'll receive an update when the issue is resolved.

Please keep me in the loop if there's any way I can help you with your payroll processing in QuickBooks. I'm always here to assist you anytime, drpetzke.

I have this same problem, it does not seem to affect anything but it is annoying.

When will this be resolved?
