Missing Receipt Report

Hello,

I am trying to be super diligent and I tend to attach a receipt or invoice to each expense transaction.

Is there a report that will highlight expense transaction in the register that are missing a receipt?

I don't think such a report exists but thought I would ask the experts!

Thanks

Hi there, @accounts-payable.

Currently, there isn't a specific report that shows expense transactions with receipt attachments. You can consider checking each expense transaction to view which of them have missing receipt attachments.

Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, click Expenses from the left menu.
  2. Click the Filter drop-down, then select Expense from the Type drop-down.
  3. Select the date of the transactions you want to show, then click Apply.
  4. From the list, open each transaction to view which of them have missing receipt attachment.
  5. Then, add the attachment if there are missing.

Here's an article for more details: How to view Expenses.

As always, you can visit our QuickBooks Community help website if you need tips and related articles in the future.

Thanks for the response.  This could be a bit tedious if there are many transactions.

Is there a forum or wish list place where I can add a request for this type of report in hopes that it will be developed and released in the future?

Thanks!

Yes, the Community forum is the platform where customers can exchange experiences, provide feedback and share ideas about QuickBooks. I can see having the Missing Receipt Report would be beneficial to your business.

Your ideas can help identify the features we need to improve on and ones to consider in future enhancements. In the meantime, I still suggest following running the report provided by @Mark_R.

You can also visit the QuickBooks Blog to view the latest news and features added to the product.
