When using bill pay, despite date entered, date on printed check is different

Quickbooks>preferences>checks, "change check date when check is printed"

Yes, have set preferences to change date; however, historically I could enter pay date as either current date or next day and would print date entered.

Yes, that's how it works. If you enter the current date on your transactions and then print them, then the date doesn't change.  Also, I think that future check dates are left alone.

Reverts to today's date if I enter future date for payment date.

It should work. Try quickbooks>preferences>transactions, if there is a check at "use current date as default for new transactions" remove it.

Use current date not checked; trying to print check from bill pay with tomorrows date (10.23), but on preview, date is 10.22.....

Use Quickbooks>Quickbooks feedback and submit a bug report.

If you are using Bill pay you probably are using a QuickBooks Windows and not QuickBooks Mac (which doesn't have bill pay).

My error; using the 'Pay Bills' tab on QB for Mac 2016
