Question

Edit Vendor List

I subscribe to a program through my bank called Positive Pay (PP). They want to me change all my vendors that I write checks to ALL CAPS in the VENDOR NAME, COMPANY NAME, BILLED FROM ADDRESS, & under Payment Settings, “Print Name on Check as”.  Is there a way to export a vendor list to Excel that has all of the above and convert them to ALL CAPS and then import that list back into QB.  I am using the Desktop Enterprise Solutions 24.0 version.

Yes, you can export your vendor list to Excel from the Vendor Center, though the "Print Name on Check as" field will need to be updated manually for each vendor inside QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how to export:

  1. Go to the Vendors menu and select Vendor Center.
  2. Click the Excel dropdown in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Export Vendor List.
  4. Choose Create a comma-separated values (.csv) file and hit Export.
  5. Name your file and click Save.

Once you edit the file in Excel, you can import it back by following the "Install the toolkit" steps in this article: Import/export CSV files in QuickBooks Desktop.
