Question

The Work Number isn't properly functioning

As part of the payroll subscription my understanding is that there should be an existing link between Quickbooks and The Work Number for employment and earnings verifications (https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/identity-verification/get-answers-questions-work-number-r-equifax/L6BtXyNGd_US_en_US)

However, even though mine does show that it's ON in the Sharing options in Payroll settings, The Work Number has no data on the company and is unable to verify employment.

I called payroll support and nobody even knew what the work number was but it's clearly a feature as it's visible in Payroll settings.

Hello, iggy519.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Allow me to share some steps to fix issues.

Missing information could be due to accumulated temporary internet files in the browser. I suggest you use an incognito window and check it from there.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

Also, please clear the cache to fix errors in QuickBooks Online and make sure you're supported and an up-to-date browser.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting again our support team for further review the information in your payroll settings.

Feel free to post again if you have additional concerns. I'm always around here to help you more. Stay safe!

This is completely irrelevant to the question I posted. There is no missing information. There is an issue with the link to a 3rd party integration Quickbooks indicates it provides and is included with the subscription.

Thanks for getting back to us, @iggy519.

The steps that were shared by my colleague above were intended for QuickBooks. Since the program is a web version, there might be a chance that too much cache build can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This can be the reason why the link between The Work Number and QuickBooks isn't functioning properly.

If you've already tried these suggestions, I'd recommend reaching out to The Work Number Customer Support. This way, we can verify if the issue is within their app.

In case you want to get a closer look at your business's finances and employees run some payroll reports in QuickBooks.

Just tag my name in the comment section if you have any other concerns or questions. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Stay safe.
