Hellodoes anyone know why I wouldn't be able to select a payroll item that has been created? full disclosure - I accidently set up a bonus item as commission - I used the commission item in error for 5 paycheques. - this has put this bonus on their T4 as commission incorrectly. I'd like to amend the paystubs to use the correct payroll item, and ultimately fix their T4. But It's not available to select in the drop down list, within the employee paystub screen....any idea why? I do realize that any changes after the fact, can and will mess up my payroll taxes - its ok, I know about that. I just want to select a payroll item that I have created, but it's not showing on the drop down. Advance thanks, to you smart people 🙂
Hello - I have one employee accruing vacation. I followed all the steps indicated below (I copied them from another threat), but I forgot to mark the Earnings That Accrue Vacation. How do I fix this now that I need to pay the vacation out to the employee? I have the amount that I need to pay out but not sure if I should make a Journal Entry (and which accounts should be affected) or a Payroll Adjustment? Hope someone can help out. 1. From the Employee Centre, right click on the employee and select Edit Employee2. In the Payroll Info, hit Vacation Pay3. Enter the $ amount payable and $ amount used YTD4. If you'd like QuickBooks to calculate and accrue vacation throughout the year, select Retain5. To have it added to each pay cheque, choose Pay Every Period6. The default value is 4% but you can edit this if needed7. In the Earnings That Accrue Vacation, choose the appropriate Payroll Item with a check

I received a PIER review from the CRA which lists about half (4) of our employees as paying insufficient CPP, and I'm trying to understand why this would happen when our CPP is automatically calculated by Quickbooks payroll. The report lists common reasons this might happen (age, top-ups, etc) but none of these consistently apply to these 4 employees and no other. It was only CPP that was off, not EI, so it wasn't a payment or TD1 deduction listed incorrectly (or it would have shown up as an EI problem as well.) I would appreciate any insight into this as I am trying to figure out how to keep it from happening again this year.
Why is the SIN numbers on the Employee T4's being blocked out this year. Everything was working perfectly any other year until the new update from QB. . It is not showing up on the Employee Slips, but is showing on the Employer Slips. Please explain.

How do I enter a bonus through payroll without taxes, cpp taken off?
We are setting up vacation pay to be paid out on each paycheck. It is the start of the year and no one has used any vacation yet. We are using Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise Contractor edition. I've gone in to the Employee Center and for each employee gone into their "Payroll Info" tab and under the "Vacation Pay" button, selected "Pay every period" and defined either 4% or 6% depending on the employee's years of service. I've then checked the individual Payroll Items that accrue vacation from the list. However, our company does not have paid sick leave and employees can take time off without pay that will effect the total hours they work in a year. We want to be sure that each employee is receiving the right total amount of vacation pay in the year that equals either 2 or 3 weeks wages. Can we define the maximum vacation hrs to be accrued per employee? And is there a way to divide that per paycheck instead of a % on the hours they a
