Hi, we recently changed our payroll frequency from twice a month to every two weeks. When paying payroll taxes it doesn't seem to have the option for that. Any ideas how to get that setup?

Thanks for any help.

Hello there, @cwoffice. QuickBooks won't show a bi-weekly tax payment option because the CRA doesn't offer one. You'll need to go to the Payroll Settings to ensure everything aligns in your account.

Even though you now pay employees every two weeks, the CRA typically keeps you on a Monthly or Quarterly remittance schedule. It's why the bi-weekly tax payment option won’t appear since the CRA doesn't offer one.

If the CRA has officially sent you a notice changing your filing requirement, you need to update this in your Payroll Settings so your Pay Taxes reminders match your legal obligations. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Click the Pencil (Edit) icon next to Federal Tax (CRA).
  3. Look for Remittance Frequency.
  4. Select your frequency based on your CRA notice
  5. Enter the Effective Date and click Save.

Moreover, If you have Automated taxes and forms enabled, QuickBooks will automatically pull the taxes from your bank account based on your CRA Remittance Frequency, not your pay dates.
