Question

If the current admin is refusing to transfer the admin right to me how do I get QB to assist?

I have changed accountants, and my previous account had the admin rights to my QB accounts. Now that he's gone, I need those admin rights. His refusing to make the transfer of the admin rights.

You can request to be the primary admin by filling out the Business Change Request form and providing documents to prove you own the company. Then, submit them to our account protection team.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Business Change Request form.
  2. Log in to your account and select the company you want to request primary admin for.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and make sure you select an answer to the questions from each dropdown.
  4. Review your business and personal details, then click Continue.
  5. On the summary page, verify that all the info is correct then select Continue again.
  6. Select Submit request. This sends an email to any other business owners or authorised parties regarding your request.

To learn more about the prerequisites and list of required documents, check out this article: Request to be the primary admin or contact in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to reply to this thread if you have any questions. I'm always here to help.
