I went to submit a clients VAT today. Hit submit - came up as saying 'blocked, try later' Never seen that before. Left it a while and went in again, This time it said it was having trouble connecting, Tried disconnecting MTD VAT and reconnecting. No difference. I am definitely my clients agent for VAT. Looked at some of my other clients VAT pages, and some say the same 'Having trouble connecting to HMRC right now' Anyone else suffering this? Before I get stuck between a rock and a hard place - (Of HMRC saying its a QBO problem and QBO saying its an HMRC issue.....)

QuickBooks and HMRC systems sometimes experience temporary outages that cause connection errors. To avoid getting stuck in support loops, it's a good idea to check the official QuickBooks Status Page and the HMRC Service Tracker to see if any known issues have been reported.

Since you have already tried disconnecting the MTD link, make sure to completely turn off the MTD feature in your QuickBooks VAT settings before reconnecting. Then, re-authorise using your Agent Services Account credentials. It's also worth logging directly into the client's HMRC portal to ensure there are no outstanding account blocks or overdue returns, as HMRC can automatically reject new filings if previous obligations are unresolved.

If both status pages indicate that everything is functioning normally, try logging out of QuickBooks and logging back in to resolve any temporary glitches.

To help us narrow down the issue, could you please provide more details about the error message? Any additional information or screenshots would be greatly appreciated.
