I appreciate you providing the screenshot regarding the error message you encountered, mary. You will get an error 1328 when updating, installing, uninstalling, or repairing your QuickBooks Desktop. Let me provide you with more details below.

The common factor that may lead to this technical issue while updating QuickBooks, include:

  • Invalid registry entries related to QuickBooks.
  • Abrupt system shutdown.
  • The system or QuickBooks configuration not done correctly.
  • Corrupted QuickBooks files.
  • Wrong configuration of internet settings.

To resolve error 1328, here's how:

  1. Select Ignore button.
  2. You may need to select Ignore several times to let the update process continue.
  3. Once the update is complete, restart the computer.

After restarting the computer, remove and then reinstall QuickBooks Desktop. Before you start, download the installer for your version of QuickBooks and have your license number handy. It should be on the original package.

Here are the steps to remove and reinstall QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu and search for Control Panel, then open it.
  2. Go to Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. In the list of programs, find and select your version of QuickBooks Desktop.
  4. Select Uninstall/Change, Remove and then Next. (If this option isn’t available, sign out of Windows and sign back in with administrative rights).
  5. When you’re done, install QuickBooks Desktop. QuickBooks Desktop will automatically install new folders and rename your old ones.

Once you've successfully installed and updated your QuickBooks Desktop, you can upgrade your company files to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop.

With these steps, you should be able to overcome error 1328 and continue with your business tasks efficiently. If you encounter further issues, feel free to reach out for additional support.

Hi Pie,

I appreciate the efforts you've put into fixing the error 1603 you've encountered when updating your QuickBooks to the latest version. I understand how frustrating it must be to encounter error 1328 after successfully addressing the previous issue. Let me provide some insights into why this error may have occurred and guide you through the steps to resolve it.

Error 1328 can occur during the installation, uninstallation, update, or repair of QuickBooks Desktop. Below are some common factors that could lead to this issue when updating QuickBooks:

  • Invalid registry entries related to QuickBooks.
  • Abrupt system shutdown.
  • The QuickBooks system configuration was not set up correctly.
  • Corrupted QuickBooks files.
  • Wrong configuration of the internet settings.

Here's how to resolve it:

  1. Select Ignore to proceed with the update.
  2. You may need to click Ignore multiple times for the process to continue.
  3. If the Ignore option isn't available, hit Close instead. Once the update finishes, restart your computer to complete the process.

After completing this procedure, your QuickBooks should function properly. If the issue persists, please refer to this article and follow the instructions in Solutions 2 and 3: Resolve Error 1328.
