Tax column missing

The tax column is missing when I try to work on my expenses and bank transactions. I'm seeing similar reports on the forums from last week. How long are we supposed to wait for this issue to be resolved? I literally can't do anything.

Hi there, @JonathanK. The Taxes column in QuickBooks Online may stop working due to an uncleared browser cache. Additionally, if your settings are set to Out of Scope of Tax, you will be prevented from adding a specific tax rate to your transactions.

To resolve this, here's how:

  • Refresh your browser
  • Signing out and sign back in to your QBO account to restore everything to its default workflow.

If the issue persists, try accessing your account via a private or incognito window. This mode prevents your browser from storing cache and cookies, which often resolves temporary glitches. Alternatively, you may want to use a different compatible browser to ensure optimal performance.

You'll also want to ensure that the Amounts are field in the Expense feature is not set to Out of Scope of Tax. This ensures the Tax column remains visible, where you can select a specific rate.

Please don't hesitate to click the Reply button if you're referring to something else in QuickBooks.
