Question

Finish Your Payment Customer Email

Two weeks ago, my customers started receiving emails after they open an invoice reminding them that they did not pay.  I contacted Quickbooks, and as usual they were first completely confused by a feature in their own software and took them a week to get back to me.  When they did, they stated this is a new feature and there is no option to turn it on or off.  Does anyone know if there is a way to turn these emails off?  Or is there a way to edit these emails as they are completely unprofessional?

This is not a reminder email.  I have those set and have zero issues.  This is appears to be a new feature rolled out with the typical zero thought Quickbooks gives to features.

It has taken me quite some time to figure out how to get this new feature disabled, but I finally found a way to escalate the issue and get some answers!

After submitting my information through Intuit’s Office of the President escalation form, I received an email from their Advanced Case Management Team. My assigned representative was incredibly helpful in advocating on my behalf and providing some much-needed clarity regarding the new “Finish Your Payment” email feature.

She confirmed that this feature was introduced as part of a recent update, but the development team did not include an option for users to disable it themselves. Because the feature is so new, lower-tier support teams have not yet received the training or information necessary to properly address the issue.

The good news is that the feature can be disabled! However, it requires the development team to manually opt your account out.

If you're experiencing the same issue, I recommend submitting an escalation request directly through Intuit’s Office of the President using the link below:

https://www.intuit.com/company/contact/office-of-the-president/

This will connect you with their escalation team, who can help facilitate the opt-out process.

Hopefully, sharing my experience will save others the time and frustration I went through trying to get this resolved!

You are my hero for sharing this. I have submitted a lengthy message to the Office of the President.

This is getting out of hand.   I have long time customers threatening to quite over this due to the annoyance of these emails.   They are the type of customers that see an invoice and pay me immediately by means outside of Quickbooks.   They get offended being told to pay when they already have.  Needless to say, the type of customer I do not want to lose.    Intuit needs to figure this out ASAP.   These are our businesses, and we should have the option to control any communication with our customers especially from a software platform we pay good, hard earned money for.

i’d be confused too if my customers kept getting emails like that. It could make them question whether their payments went through when everything is actually fine. Hopefully QuickBooks gives users a way to turn these off.

All, I just reached out to [PII removed], Intuit Media Contact to ask for help.  If I don’t hear from her within the next week, I am taking this to my local media outlet to do an investigative report on spamming customers with payment reminders by QB that cannot be turned off.  I would encourage anyone else that has access to these outlets to contact Kim also and then their media outlets to get an investigation report going in the media.  This cannot continue for more months on end with no resolution.  Thanks….  Lets put the pressure on QB..

Thanks..  I opened an escalation yesterday and got a call from a rep today.  They told m that this is a new feature of the merchant module and not the invoice communications module.  they said that they are aware of this issue but have not received enough feedback from QB users to make a decision on changing the way the feature works.  I firmly explained that this is not a feature but that QB customers are paying the price for features that are not a feature but a SPAM ploy….  I told her that if this is the info that they are giving her to pass on then they are setting her up for a bad failure in her job..  She has committed to contact me back on Friday.  I told her it needs to be rolled back or given us the option to turn it off….

Please everyone go in and open an issue on the link that is provided here for the Office of the President..  They are literally giving us the brush off and did not offer me the back end developer opt-out option even when I asked about it…  I’ll keep updating but we, as a whole, need to keep the pressure on them.  Thanks….
