Print invoice in line order not date order?

I need to have my invoice print in the order which I add the lines but the print preview puts the invoice in date order - help!

Adding a service date when creating an Invoice will print it in date order. It sorts the items from the oldest date to the latest one.

You'll want to remove the service date function when creating an invoice to print it with the line items and in the correct order.

Here's how:

Click the Gear icon at the top right, then select Account and Settings.
Select the Sales tab, and go to the Sales form content section.
Remove the checkmark in the Service date box, then Save and Done.

This didn't work. I turned off Service Date (which were never on in the first place) and the PDF invoices are still showing up all scrambled. How do I get it to sort by Line Item, as it shows and gets sorted on the screen? This is confusing my clients to see a completely scrambled invoice, and makes me look very unprofessional.

This sometimes happens due to a printer connection issue or a corrupted print settings file in QuickBooks.

First, let's test if you can print outside of QuickBooks:

Open Notepad on your computer and type some text.
Select the File menu, then choose Print, and try printing to your usual printer.

If it doesn't print at all, you’ll need to make sure the printer is setup correctly. If it does print fine, the issue is likely with QuickBooks itself, so you’ll need to test your company file and print a different form aside from your invoice.

If the issue persists, running the Print and PDF tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub is the most effective fix.

It’s also worth noting that QuickBooks Pro 2018 is discontinued, so the Tool Hub's compatibility isn't guaranteed. If the issue continues, upgrading to the latest version is the best long-term fix.
