Question

sending emails

Hello, I wonder if you could help me. Up until about a week ago when I used the send e-mail function on QuickBooks the e-mail would open in my e-mail client which is outlook and I would click send from there the e-mail would then appear in my sent e-mail box within outlook.

 

Recently I've had some e-mail issues and had to reinstall outlook, but now find that when I click send e-mail from within QuickBooks it opens up a preview pane within QuickBooks and sends the e-mail from QuickBooks. I can't see if this e-mail has actually sent and I would really like to go back to it opening up in my outlook programme. I hope this makes sense and I hope that somebody can help me. Hi there, CHRISD11. Let me help you get this done.

 

You'll have to toggle the Outlook or Outlook Express option from the preferences after reinstalling outlook. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  3. In the Send Forms section, go to My Preferences.
  4. Select Outlook or Outlook Express.
  5. You can add your email address and click OK to apply the changes.

 

You can add Outlook as an option to send an email if it's missing in QuickBooks Desktop. For more details, you can read through the solutions shared in these articles:

Many thanks, it used to work, but as per your screen shot, not outlook is shown, I will have to look at that,

premier accountant 2020 - I used to just click send email and the adobe file would open in an outlook email, now it openes within quickbooks with a preview.
