@EXPERThere has a point on what version of QuickBooks are you using.
If you're using QuickBooks Online, let's, use a private browser or an incognito window upon logging in to your account to isolate the issue. Afterward, clear the cache of the browser that you're currently using if it works.
You can also use a different browser since every browser uses a different cache storage folder on your computer.
Also, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, make sure you are opening the latest backup Company file, for you to be able to log in to your account in QuickBooks Desktop.

I am unable to open my Quick Books account as it does not recognize the password I have used for years and I am unable to open with a new password, I have tried for 2 days and it is making me crazy.
I have been trying to log in my quick books. I cannot log in. I tried to reset password-users ID. I keep getting verification codes but it does not move forward.
I understand how difficult it is that you can't log in to your account. Since you've followed all the necessary steps in resetting your password, you can utilize the password reset tool to get this fix.
Choose your QuickBooks version on the Version drop-down arrow.
A product information window should pop up. Enter your QuickBooks business information, then hit Next when you are finished.
Accept the license agreement and hit Download. If it asks you to Run or Save the file, choose Save and save it to your Desktop. And the email that contains the access token will be sent to only the same address you originally entered.
From the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, select the same version.
Click Browse for Company File, then locate the file, and enter the correct Company File Admin User Name.
Enter your New Password and then Confirm New Password.
I had to shut down and restart . When I tried to login I could not do so with my previous password, so I went to create a new password. They asked me for my previous password and it would not accept it. Can your help me?
I appreciate for doing some basic troubleshooting steps on your end, @5513.
Changing your password is my top priority, so you're able to get back to your business. With this, I'd suggest doing the steps that user Ralph Bush shared above to get rid of the issue.
Let's open your QuickBooks account again, then enter the new password you've created where it said old or previous password. Then re-type the same password in the New and Confirm Password field. After that, you'll be able to log in to your account.
For example:
Previous: Intuit@2020
New: Intuit@2020
Confirm: Intuit@2020
For more details about the process, you may visit the Automated Password Reset Tool link that my colleagues provided over. Please proceed to the second to the last steps.

I'm trying hard to log in to PAY QUICKBOOKS to renew my subscription. There are two authorized users: the owner who knows nothing about quickbooks/computers/accounting and the old admin person who is no longer here. It says to contact QuickBooks to update this info BUT I CANT. I have tried every version of email/phone number/password possible with no luck. Plase help. I can get into quickboolks to work but I need to update my subscription and apparently that's a different set of IDs

I was sent an email saying my employer had sent my 1099 via intuit quickbooks. When I tried to set up an account it said I already had one (what? not that I know of). Of course I have no idea what the password is, didn't even know I had this account. Tried to re-set the password and after jumping through a lot of hoops, I was able to re-set it, but when I try to log in, I keep getting "There's an error on our end." So am stuck. And it's super helpful that when you call the 800 number and the bot asks what the issue is and you say unable to log in, the reply is " the only way you can get help or a callback from an expert is to log into your account and...." I CANNOT LOG IN!
Thanks for joining in this conversation, @sparkerart. I want to ensure you can access your account to view the 1099 your employer has sent you.
It could be that your email has previously signed up for any of Intuit's products. That's why the system has prompted you that you already had one.
Good point on successfully resetting your password. Now, let's fix the error you're getting by performing some basic troubleshooting steps.
First, let's use a private browser or incognito window to eliminate any browser history that may cause a glitch inside QuickBooks. You can refer to the following keyboard shortcuts below:
Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari: Command + Shift + N
If this fixes the issue, close out the private window and clear the cache on the regular browser. Otherwise, use other supported browsers to help narrow down the cause of this behavior.
If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask. I'll always be around to help. Have a great day!
I have one more solution to help you log in to your account before we escalate this.
What error did you receive when you tried logging in to your account? An error message would definitely help me come up with a solution to fix the login issue.
Also, you can use the I forgot my user ID and password utility to reset your login details.
On the login page, click the I forgot my user ID and password link.
In the box, enter your email address or phone number associated with your account.
Click Continue.
Continue with the prompts to reset your login details.
If you're still unable to log in after resetting your credentials, you'll want to contact our support. They can pull up your account details securely and help you fix the login issue.
When you're finally logged in, you can work on your books for your business. Feel free to check our articles if you need help with your transactions, lists and in other areas in QuickBooks.
You can create a new thread if you have other questions in QuickBooks Online. My colleagues and I will be there to respond with guides, details and pointers.
I lost my Quick Books desktop password. When I'm trying to resetting its not just asking me to ask your admin to that. Also, I do have tried to do that using my Admin user there when I'm entering new password and hitting on okay button its giving error something like QuickBooks can't do this at this time and it will automatically restart. Please help me fix it.
